XRCE maintains a high level of competence in computational linguistics and has developped efficient software modules for natural language analysis. On the other hand, the Helix research group beneficates from a long experience in bioinformatics and knowledge modeling.

XRCE and Helix are involved in joint research activities in information extraction from texts, with a focus on genomics.
